McClelland Barclay Stand by General Marshall  1943. George Marshall (1880-1959) became Chief of Staff in 1939 and held that rank throughout the war. Marshall was President Roosevelt's right hand man.  He put the army on a war footing enlarging, equipping an retraining it.  General Marshall restructured the amy by dividing it ino three areas, ground, air and services. Although he was hoping for command armies in the field, FDR kept Marshall in Washington for the duration of the war, claiming he wouldln't sleep well with him there.  Privately printed by Timken Roller Bearing Company. Rare. 15x11 mint, shrink wrapped.
