Jonas, Lucien: Subscribe For Victory and the Triumph of Freedom. Marianne is pictured encouraging American troops who have not yet arrived to hurry and join her embattled Italian and English allies seen fighting just below her etheral figure which hovers above the carnage. The central figure in this three man composition is a French sergeant, who hurls a gernade at the Germans while his valiant efforts are covered by a woundeded Englishmen who trains his Enfield rifle on the enemy. This is a mythical scene dreamed up by Jonas. When this bond poster was printed in 1918, the war had less than a year to run. The French, Italians and English were pretty much on their backs and no longer capable of offense action. French troops had already mutined the year before. Some had been executed as any who has ever seen Kirk Douglas in the movie Paths of Glory knows. Thank god that at that time the Germans were in a similar condition. 47x32 near mint, conservation  backed.
